N.Z. BRASS BANDS’ CHAMPIONSHIPS
MORE THAN 40 ENTRIES RECEIVED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 17. More than 40 entries have been received for the New Zealand brass bands’ championships, commencing at Napier on February 22. Entries are:— A Grade.-r-Auckland Metropolitan (formerly Waterside Silver), Derry’s (formerly 3rd Armoured Regiment), Kaikorai, Lower Hutt Civic, Queen Alexandra’s Own, St. Kilda Municipal, Timaru Municipal, Wellington Metropolitan Fire Brigade. B Grade.—lst Battalion, Auckland Regiment. Hamilton Citizens’, Napier City, Northern Military District, Palmerston North Garrison, Wanganui Garrison, Wellington Municipal. C Grade. —Addington Workshops, Ashburton Silver, Caversham-Green Island, Gisborne Municipal, Newbright Silver, Te Awamutu Municipal. Wellington Waterside Silver. D Grade. —Auckland Girls’ Silver, Ist Armoured Regiment (Waikato), Dannevirke Municipal, Dunedin Ladies’ Eltham Municipal. Foxton Silver, Gisborne Silver, Hastings Citizens, Marton Municipal, Napier Technical. E Grade.—New Plymouth City, Papatoetoe Municipal, Petone Municipal, Ponsonby Boys’, Pukekohe Municipal, Rotorua Municipal, St. John Ambulance (ex-Hamilton City), Stratford Citizens, Taihape Municipal, Takapuna Municipal, Tauranga Municipal.
