County Amalgamation
Unanimously, the Paparua County Council decided on Friday evening to make formal application to the Local Government Commission for it to prepare a provisional scheme for the amalgamation of the counties of Halswell and Springs and the rural areas of the Paparua county. The council did not discuss the motion, which, the chairman «Cr. C. A. Campion) said, was “making history.”
