INJURED MAN DIES
COLLISION WITH TRAIN AT WAIMATE
Harrison Rowley, aged 33, a stock agent, whose car was involved in a collision with a goods train at High street crossing, Waimate, at 11.55 p.m. on December 13, died in Waimate Hospital at 11.30 a.m. yesterday. An inquest will be opened today.
A former All Black forward, Mr Rowley was a Bush representative in 1947, and played for Wanganui for the next three seasons. In 1949, he was selected for the second test against Australia, at Auckland, and in that season he also played for the North Island against the South Island. Mr Rowley went to live in South Canterbury about four years ago.
