MINOR FIRES
A chimney fire at a house at 88 Hills road, occupied by Mr Eric James Huston, was attended by one engine from the St. Albans fire station at 8.19 p.m. yesterday. No damage was done.
One engine from the central station attended a rubbish fire at premises at 265 Hereford street occupied by Madeline Eddy, at 9.5 p.m. There was no damage.
Calls were received to two oven fires on Saturday. The first, to a house in Dalgety street, occupied by Irene Doris Brundall. was extinguished by a unit from the Sockburn fire station. A second oven fire at premises in Bower avenue, occupied by Mr William Clifford, was dealt with by an engine from the New Brighton station. There was no damage.
