CENTRAL MISSION CHRISTMAS APPEAL

Sir,—As Christmas draws near the staff of the Christchurch Central Mission is busily engaged preparing gift parcels, organising parties, etc., for many folk in the community who, on account of limited finance, sickness, or loneliness, are in need of the service we render. Old folk, particularly those living alone, are especially remembered at this season of the year. Needy families are likewise remembered, as are patients and inmates of various institutions. Each year readers respond generously to our Christmas appeal and once again I ask your readers to help us to translate the Christmas spirit into action by sending gifts of cash, fruit, cakes, sweets, puddings, groceries, toys, etc. “Of the love for one’s own, spare just a little for those who’re alone.” All gifts will be acknowledged. Gifts may be sent to the Christchurch Central Mission, 209 Cambridge terrace., P.O. Box 1449, Christchurch.—Yours, etc., W. E. FALKINGHAM, City Missioner. December 12, 1956.
