RUSSIAN VISITORS BARRED FROM U.S.

(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) HONOLULU, Dec. 11. The United States Immigration Service today cancelled the American sightseeing plans of 18 Russian Olympic athletes, and ordered them to fly home by way of the Polar route from Los Angeles “for security reasons.” Mr William Hogan. Hawaiian immigration chief, said that the athletes, including the Soviet Sports Minister, Mr Nicolai Romanov, would be ‘‘under supervision” during their two-hour stop in Honolulu. The Russians would fly directly to Los Angeles and there board a Scandinavian flight for home, instead of travelling from Los Angeles to New York as they had planned, he said.
