NEW BANK BRANCH OPENED
Christchurch’s latest branch bank departs altogether from solid stone architecture. Instead, the Victoria square branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, which opened this week, has shoo windows, and, inside, has light-coloured modern furniture and fittings. The bank has used one of its shop windows to display its own activities, and let the others for display purposes. Its own window features some of the bank’s functions and photographs of branches throughout New Zealand. A nearby retail company using one of the windows recalls that it has banked with the bank for 22 years, and the display portrays some of the functions performed by the bank for the company.
