U.S. SCHOLARS FOR NEW ZEALAND
Research Awards Announced
A professor of geology from Ohio State University, Dr. Richard P. Goldthwait, is one of the six United States research- scholars who will come to New Zealand next year. The awards are made by the United States Educational Foundation. Dr. Goldthwait. who will undertake research in glacial geology with the Geological Survey, in Christchurch, will arrive in March. The other United States Research Scholar who will come to Christchurch is Dr. Ray H. Dutt, associate professor of genetics, animal husbandry group, University of Kentucky. Dr. Dutt, who will arrive in New Zealand on January 15, will do research on fertility in sheep at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln. Also coming to Canterbury Agricultural College will be Mr John A Rolloff, B.Sc., of Montevideo, Minnesota, who will arrive in Wellington on February 4. A New Zealand travel grant has been made to Mr Edward S. Robinson, M.Sc., of the department of zoology, Victoria University College. Mr Robinson will undertake research in parasitology at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska, under Dr. Howard W. Manter, who was formerly at Victoria University College as a visiting research scholar under the Fulbright programme. Mr Robinson will leave New Zealand on December 14.
