Jungle Trek To R.N.Z. A.F. Plane
(Rec. 7 p.m.) KUALA LUMPUR, ■December 11
A jungle rescue team had by tonight hacked its way to within 500yds of a Royal New Zealand Air Force Bristol Freighter, which crashed yesterday in the rugged Cameron Highlands of Central Malaya. The team is expected to reach the wreck tomorrow morning.
Helicopters which hovered over the jungle directing the rescue party reported that they found no sign of the nine men who were in the aeroplane when it crashed while dropping supplies to patrols fighting terrorists. They were the crew of three -lew Zealanders, four British dispatchers who were dropping the supplies, and two cameramen of the Malayan Film Unit, who were making a film of the •upply drop.
