Duke Arrives In Canberra
(Rec. 11 p.m.) CANBERRA. Nov. 18. The Duke of Edinburgh was wearing the uniform of a Marshal of the Royal Australian Air Force when he arrived in Canberra tonight on a four-day visit. The Duke, who had flown from Alice Springs, was welcomed the Governor-General, Sir William Slim, and the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies. The Duke flew into Alice Springs from Darwin at dusk on Friday after brief calls at a cattle station and the mining centre of Tennant On Thursday. the Duke will visit Melbourne to declare open the 1950 Olympic Games.
