ST. MARGARET’S OLD GIRLS
ANNUAL REUNION. OF ASSOCIATION
The annual reunion celebrations of the St. Margaret’s College Old Girls’ Association. commenced on Friday, when the Founders’ Day ceremony and Evensong were held at the college. Cranmer square. Many old girls attended the service, which was conducted by the Ven. Archdeacon E. A. Gowing, chaplain of the college. On Saturday morning a Communion service was held at St. Mary’s, Merivale. It was conducted by Archdeacon Gowing. Afterwards morning tea was served in the parish hall. The president (Mrs W. L. Partridge) received a large number of guests and specially welcomed the patron of' the association (Miss J. P. Crosher) and two representatives from the St. Hilda’s College Old Girls’ Association. In the afternoon the tennis- match for the Betty Thomas Cup was played between the present girls and a team of old girls, and was won by the old girls’ team. Afternoon tea was served by the committee, and later in the afternoon the old girls’ race for the Addeh Perkins Cup was run. The winner was Mrs P. Watkinson, with Mrs N. Ackroyd second, and Mrs G. McK. Hill third. Races for the younger visitors were won by Susan Cook, Jessica Cook, Robyn Annand, Hilary Ackroyd, Mary Watkinson and John Wilson. Last evening more than 70 members of the association attended Evensong at St. Mary’s, Merivale. The celebrations will continue today with the Armagh circle morning tea to be held at the National Club - rooms. In the evening the annual dinner and the annual meeting will be held.
