RANGIORA BOROUGH COUNCIL. SPECIAL ORDER. FIRE STATION LOAN, 1956—£20,000. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Rangiora Borough Council held on Wednesday, 24th day of October, 1956, the following resolution by way of Special Order was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of the Council, to be held at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 1956, in the Council Chambers, Percival street, Rangiora. RESOLUTION. In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1954, the Fire Services Act, 1949, and the Local Bodies Loan Act, 1926, and by virtue of the sanction of the Local Government Loans Board granted at a meeting held on September 20, 1956, the Rangiora Borough Council doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order as follows: 1— That the Rangiora Borough Council proceed to raise a loan of £20,000 for the erection of a new Fire Station. 2 That such loan be known as the Fire Station Loan, 1956. 3 That the terms for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be 25 years. 4 That the rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding four and seven-eigths per cent. (4g) per annum. 5 That the said loan or any part thereof together with interest thereon shall be repaid by equal aggregate halfyearly or yearly instalments extending over the term of the loan namely 25 years. 6 That the rate payable for brokerage, underwriting and procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof, shall not in the aggregate exceed half per centum (i) of any amount raised. 7 That for the security of the said loan and interest thereon as aforesaid, and ror the purrpose of securing payment of the said debentures and interest and other charges thereof, a Special Annual Recurring Rate of one decimal one five pence in the £ shall be permanently appropriated and pledged, such rate being upon and calculated on the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) and levied over all rateable property within the Borough of Rangiora. It is hereby further publicly notified that a poll of ratepayers is required to be taken if 5 per cent, of the ratepayers of the Borough so demand, by writing under their hands delivered or sent by post to the undersigned before the date fixed for the confirmation of the resolution herein before mentioned.
