PLASTERERS’ NEW AWARD
WAGES INCREASED BY ID AN HOUR
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 18. Increased wage rates are included in a new plasterers’ fibrous plasterers and tile-fixers’ award for the Northern Taranaki. Wellington, Marlborough and Nelson industrial districts issued by the Court of Arbitration. The award embodies the terms of a settlement reached in Conciliation Council. Adults' wages have been increased by Id an hour, and are now: journeyman plasterers, fibrous plasterers, and tile layers. 5s an hour, or £lO 12s 6d a week; fibrous plaster casters and wallboard makers, 4s BJd an hour or £9 8s 4d a week, and fibrous plaster casters employed in the manufacture of cement sheets, 4s 9d an hour or £9 10s a week. The provision for a weekly wage is new- A worker is to be deemed a weekly worker after two weeks work. The journeymen’s tool, brush and overall allowance has been increased by Ad an hour to IJd. and the country work overtime rate has been increased from Is l?d to Is 6d.
