BASKETBALL
CONFERENCE VENUE CHANGED A change has been made in the venue of the annual conference of the New Zealand Basketball Association and the New Zealand Basketball Referees’ Association. The conferences were to have been held in Wanganui, but the New Zealand Basketball Association has been advised that because of a wool sale accommodation in the city was not available. At an emergency meeting of the association’s executive, it was decided to hold the conferences in Christchurch —the examiners’ conference on May 18. the referees’ council on May 20. and the New Zealand Basketball Council on May 21, 22. and 23. The arrangements for the New Zealand championship tournaments are unchanged —the first and second grades at Greymouth in the first week of the August school holidays, the third grade at Hokitika in the second week of the holidays.
