British Tanker Sinks
(Rec. 10 p.m) NEW YORK, Nov. 17. A large British tanker was reported to have sunk today off the southwest Philippines, and another British ship was said to have picked up 52 survivors.
It has been reported that the 12,218ton Neritopis, owned, by the British Shell Petroleum Company, went down after striking a submerged rock in the South China Sea.
The British ship Nellore picked up 52 survivors from the Neritopis.
