NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Elections to fill TWO ANNUAL VACANCIES on the Board of Governors of the Canterbury Agricultural College will be held on Monday, the 3rd day of December 1956, and that the polls for such elections will be closed at 5 o’clock on the afternoon of that day. ONE MEMBER is to be elected by such of the Members of the House of Representatives as for the time being represent electoral districts wholly or partly within the Provincial District of Canterbury ONE MEMBER is to be elected by the Graduates of the University of New Zealand whose names are on the books of the College and the holders of Diplomas granted by the College. PRESTON, Commissioner of Crown Lands. 7339 ENGINEERING BURSARIES. ELECTRICAL engineering bursaries at the University will be offered in 1957 by the Post and Telegraph Department. They lead to careers in radio, telephone, telegraph, and electrical engineering. The bursaries are open to pupils leaving postprimary schools and also to undergraduates who have completed the Intermediate. or the First, or the Second Professional Examinations of the Bachelor of Engineering Degree. University Entrance is the minimum qualification for applicants. Bursaries will be for full-time study to complete the B.E. (Electrical) degree (post-graduate study may be considered in special cases). Bursars will receive a subsistence allowance of £ll5 per University year (£175 if living away from home) and, during long vacations, will work in the Department at normal rates. Further information in booklet form is available from the Engineer-in-Chief’s Office, Third Floor, General Post Office, Wellington, telephone 70-889, or from any Post Office District Engineer. Applications, which close on December 10. should be made on form Staff 1, obtainable from any Post Office.
