Northerly winds, strong about the straits; scattered showers in the Sounds; weather elsewhere fair to cloudv; moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: rain. Canterbury.—North-westerly winds, fresh to strong at times: rain about the Alps; weather elsewhere fair to cloudy; mild to warm temperatures. Outlook: showery periods.
