FISH PRICES IN CHRISTCHURCH
FIRM OFFERS BOOKS FOR INSPECTION
An offer to let Miss M. Howard. M.P. examine its books and accounts has been made by a Christchurch fish marketing company. Miss Howard recently asked that the Price Tribunal investigate retail and wholesale prices of fish in Christchurch.
The director of the company (Mr G. D. Noonan) said in a letter sent to Miss Howard that he realised some anomalies and problems existed in the fish industry. “So that you have the opportunity of receiving first-hand information. I cordially invite you, and a public accountant of your choice, to inspect the books and records relating to our retail section,” said Mr Noonan. “Every assistance will be given by my staff and myself So that you will be able to appreciate more fully the position as it is today.”
