WHY WHITE NYLON TURNS SLIGHTLY YELLOW In order to prevent Nylon shirts and other garments taking on a slightly yellow tinge, care should be taken when drying garments. Nylon should never be dried near direct heat or in a strong sunlight nor should it be placed in a hotwater cupboard If white nylon does become yellowed it can be restored to the original white colour by gentle bleaching However, makers warn against the use of a strong bleach. A safe bleaching agent is a solution of 2ozs of Clor-O-Gene to a gallon of’ water. After washing the garment should be rinsed thoroughly. Clor-O-Gene is obtainable at all stores and a pamphlet giving many uses of this wonder fluid is obtainable by writing to Clor-O-Gene Supplies, Ltd., Box 47, Petone. —Advt.
