ROYAL BIRTH IN BELGIUM
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (kec. 11 p.m.) BRUSSELS, October 1. Princess Lilian de Rethy, second wife of the former King Leopold of Belgium, gave birth to her third child in Brussels last night. It was the couple’s second daughter. They named her Princess MariaEsmeralda Adelaide Lilian Anne Leopoldine. The other children are Prince Alexandre. aged 14, and Princess Marie Christine., aged 5. The former King Leopold had three children by his first marriage to Swedish-born Queen Astrid, who died in a car accident in 1935. The oldest son of this marriage is the reigning Monarch, King Baudouin. aged 26.
