ESSENTIAL GAS WORKS
BLENHEIM, HOKITIKA, AND OAMARU INCLUDED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 9. Gas undertakings operated by the Blenheim Borough Council, the Hokitika Gas Company, Ltd., and the Oamaru Borough Council are declared essential in an announcement made by the Minister in charge of the State Hydro-electric Department (Mr W S Goosman) today. These are additional to those declared essential in April and May after reports from the Electricity and Gas Co-ordination Committee. “The only gas undertaking for which a decision on essentiality is now awaited is the Waimate Gas and Coal Compciny, Ltd., where a special report is being obtained by the committee,” said Mr Goosman. “The committee is endeavouring to complete its deliberations on the problems of equation of gas and electricitv prices and methods of finance and valuat,?rLas rec « u i r ed by the Electricity and Gas Co-ordination Committee Act. 1955. and will report to me as soon as possible. ’ said the Minister.
