MILK BOTTLE CAPS
ALUMINIUM MAY REPLACE CARDBOARD An aluminium capping machine may be installed by the Christchurch Milk Company at its bottling plant soon. The chairman of the company (Mr T. H. McCombs) said last evening that the change from cardboard to aluminium caps would depend on the life left in the present two cardboard capping machines used by the company. One of the machines, at least, was due to be replaced before very long. “The time is not very far off when it will be necessary to install a new i milk capping machine and at that stage we will change to aluminium caps.” he said. Milk consumers in Wellington win probably be getting their milk in alu-minium-capped bottles by the end of the year. The changeover from cardboard will cost about £18.500.
