Forecast:— • Canterbury and the Kaikoura Coast.—Cold weather: southerly winds, becoming fresh to strong during the morning, with cloudy skies and showers. Remainder of Marlborough.—Moderate to strong south-west winds; fine morning and afternoon in most places, but rain or showers developing towards the evening in the Sounds; cold. Nelson.—South-westerly winds, fresh in exposed places; mainly fine, but showery over the ranges; cold. West Coast.—Moderate to fresh winds: a showery period in the south during the morning and in the north in the afternoon; weather otherwise fine; cold. Outlook.—All districts: changeable south-westerly conditions still likely. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of 6.1 degrees the weather in Christchurch yesterday was showery, with an improvement in the afternoon. There was a light to fresh south-west wind, and the maximum temperature was 15.5 degrees. At midnight the sky was cloudy, and there was no wind. The temperature was 30.7 degrees.
