15-YEAR-OLD GIRLS IN COURT
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 5. Two girls, each aged 15, admitted being idle and disorderly when they appeared before Mr W. H. Carson. S.M., in the Children’s Court yesterday afternoon. Senior-Sergeant M. J. McCormack said they had met members of a Swedish ship in Auckland and followed the ship to Wellington. They arrived in Wellington on a Saturday and immediately went aboard the ship, where they stayed till the following Tuesday. They were seen by the police coming off. Neither had any money. The Magistrate placed one girl under the supervision of the Child Welfare Division on the understanding that she would be returned immediately to Auckland. The other was remanded until next week.
