KAITOA ARRIVES AT LYTTELTON
MOTOR-SHIP’S MAIDEN VOYAGE After a fine-weather passage from London, with the exception of one day when nearing New Zealand, the Union Steam Ship Compan: s new motor-ship Kaitoa arrived at Lyttelton early yesterday morning from London at the completion of her maiden voyage. The Kaitoa was commissined at Leith on May’ 10, and sailed to London, where 2600 tons of cement was loaded for Lyttelton. Captain A. P. Heenan brought the Kaitoa out, and his chief engineer was Mr J. Lucas, formerly’ of the New Zealand Shipping Company's service. Other officers are:—chief officer. Mr J. C. Warrensecond, Mr R. Cox; third. Mr D. Malclom; second engineer. Mr R. Hulee: third. Mr D. A. Turner: fourth. Mr W. Brebner; electrician, Mr A. Williams: radio officer, Mr R. Lowrey; chief steward, Mr A. Taylor.
