BRITISH CONCERN’S N.Z. SUBSIDIARY
MANUFACTURE OF TINPLATE (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 5. One of the United Kingdom’s largest manufacturers of tinplate, black sheet and galvanised sheet steel in its 'continuous strip-mill in Ebbw Vale (Monmouthshire) and a number of other works throughout England and Wales. Richard Thomas and Baldwins, have announced the establishment of its own subsidiary companies in Australia and New Zealand. The New Zealand company is known as Richard Thomas and Baldwins (New Zealand), Ltd. It will have its head office in Wellington with branches in Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin. The New Zealand director and general manager is Mr G. Durward, who has been with the company, first in South America and later in London, for a number of years.
