Sir.—Your article describing the Davy Crockett craze and its effects is interesting. It would be more so if you could publish some of the views and investigations of the “Sydney Morning Herald” and other Australian papers when the craze was at its height in Australia. These give a truer picture of the character of Davy Crockett and show the gloss that the legend has put on his life story.—Yours. e*c., H.G.P. July 5, 1956.
