Knox Presbyterian Badminton Club. Christchurch, beat St. Andrew’s Club, Ashburton, by 10 games to 6 in a match played at Ashburton recently.
Results were (St Andrew’s names first): Women’s singles: S. Hamilton lost to B. Webster, 3-11; V. Bonnington lost to B. Mahan, 2-11; P. Ross beat H. Mitchell, 117; D. Seaton beat R. Jack, 11-2.
Men’s singles: D Prebble lost to Chiam See Tong, 12-15; J. Hamilton lost to I. Tweedy, 9-15; C. Anderson lost to D. Peacock. 4-15; I. Glassey beat R. Andrews, 17-15.
Men’s doubles: D. Prebble and C. Anderson lost to C. S. Tong and I. Tweedy, 15-8; J. Hamilton and I. Glassey lost to D. Peacock and R Andrews, 8-15.
Women’s doubles: S. Hamilton and V. Bonnington lost to B. Webster and B. Mahan. 4-15; P Ross and D. Seaton beat H. Mitchell and R. Jack, 15-10.
Combined doubles: S. Hamilton and J. Hamilton lost to B. Webster and C. S. Tong. 4-15; V. Bonnington and D. Prebble beat B. Mahan and I. Tweedy, 15-12; P. Ross and C Anderson lost to P. Peacock and H. Mitchell, 0-15; D. Seaton and I. Glassey beat R. Andrews and R. Jack, 15-6.
