CANTERBURY CLUB HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING The highlights of the season were the Sanders Cup contest and the Olympic s ? a fP ie tria s ,' said Ibe report presented at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Yatch and Motor-boat Club. The club desired to congratulate Graham and Peter Mander and their crews on their successes.
Towards the end of the season it had been found necesssary to buy a 20ft launch for use as a pick-up boat at a cost of £2OO. This purchase, togethei with an additional annual rental of £BO for the new slipway, had caused a heavy drain on the club’s finances. As the club had moved to the western reclamation ground, the original clubhouse had been sold to the Lyttelton Sea Scouts. Membership had remained static, and there was a great need for an increase in junior members.
