THEFT OF ATHLETE’S EQUIPMENT
MISS V. SLOPER RESUMES FULL TRAINING The theft of athletic equipment from the Technical Amateur Athletic Club’i room at Ensors road, which it was thought might retard the training of the Olympic nominee. Miss Valerie Sloper, has caused only a slight delay in her programme. • Among the equipment stolen A-ere several junior shots and discuses used by Miss Sloper for her winter training. and a pair of her running shoes. Although the gear has not been found. Miss Sloper has been able to resume full training mainly through the efforts Af the club’s secretary (Mr C. Sanderson). After inquiries at nearly all of the sports stores in the city, Mr Sanderson was fortunate in being able to buy a junior shot and discus for Miss Sloper.
