British Communists Join Attack (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, June 22. British Communist Party chiefs today followed party leaders in Italy and France in criticising Mr Nikita Khrushchev for blaming all the Russian regime’s past [nistakes on Josef Stalin. The political committee of the 34,000-strong British Communist Party said in a statement that it would be “necessary to make a profound Marxist analysis of the causes of degeneration in the functioning of the Soviet democracy and party democracy.” The statement said that in this the committee agreed “with (he observations of Comrade Togliatti and the French Communist Party.” The British Communist leaders added: “It is not enough to attribute these developments solely to the character of one individual. A more adequate estimate of the role of Stalin, both jn its positive and negative aspects, will be necessary.”
