OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press’ Sneciat Service WELLINGTON. June 22. The weather forecast issued at 9 p.m by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, for the 27 hours after the time of issue. Situation:— A broad south-westerly airstream covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand. Forecast:— Canterbury and Marlborough.— South-westerly winds, fresh to strong in exposed places; cold, showery conditions persisting near the coast; weather mainly fair to cloudy inland; temperatures cold; outlook, show r ery periods. Nelson and West Coast.—Moderate west to south-west winds predominating; a few showers about the ranges of Nelson and Buller; elsewhere fair to fine; temperatures cold; outlook, mainly fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of 53 degrees, the weather in Christchurch yesterday was cloudy, with showers in the afternoon and evening. The maximum temperalure was 49.7 degrees, and there was a fresh south-west wind. At midnight, the sky was cloudy, and a 14-knot south-west wind was blowing. The temperature was 40.8 degrees.
