ROSEWALL WINS
LAWN TENNIS
QUEEN’S CLUB SINGLES (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. June 21. The Australian, Ken Rosewall, today cleared what will probably be his most difficult hurdle before the finals of the Queen’s Club men’s singles tennis championships. He beat his fellow Australian, Malcolm Anderson, 0-6, 6-2, 6-4, in a fourth round match which must have given him little encouragement for Wimbledon. Candy had another two-set win—his fourth in four matches—when he met the Italian giant. O. Sirola. Neale Fraser had a hard game with Ham Richardson (United States), and at one time thq Australian was rushing the net too fast and overshooting Richardson’s drop shots. Fraser won, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Lew Hoad and Ken Rosewall reached the semi-finals of the men’s doubles today. They beat Luis Ayala (Chile) and Trevor Fancutt (South Africa), 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
