TUNNEL ROAD ROUTES
Sir,—lt is too dangerous to blast a tunnel through to Lyttelton. A middle road would be great. Mr Stewart had the bright idea, and it could be built m six months and cost much less than a tunnel. When the big flying-boats come before long we in Christchurch will have plenty of harbour for them. —Yours, etc., E. RAWLINGS June 22, 1956. k
