FRENCH AIRLINER FIRED AT

(Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, June 22. Air France announced today that its regular Prague-Paris Skymaster airliner, carrying 57 passengers, was rocked by a burst of anti-aircraft gunfire over the Czech-German frontier area.

The plane was undamaged and the passengers noticed nothing. An Air-France spokesman said it was believed the guns were those of United States units which were practising. The incident occurred while the plane was between Cheb, a west Czech frontier town, and Nuremberg.

The plane was flying through the international air corridor reserved for planes flying over Germany. It made a safe landing at Paris.

To Marry Marilyn Monroe.—Mr Arthur Miller, playwright, said in Washington that he will marry Marilyn Monroe, possibly within the next few days. Miller, a Pulitzer Prize-winner, made the statement to reporters during a recess in his appearance before the House of Representatives Committee on Un-American Activities, which is inquiring into whether American passports are being misused. In New York, Miss Monroe said: “We are not sure when or where our marriage will take place.”—New York, June 22.
