INDONESIAN TIN AND OIL

China Negotiating DJAKARTA, June 21. Communist China today reported that it was negotiating for the purchase of tin and .crude oil from Indonesia as well as rubber which, the Indonesian Government announced, was no longer banned for export to the Chinese mainland. However, rubber is so far the only United Nations embargo item on which Indonesia has lifted the ban. Tin and crude oil have not yet been mentioned by the Government. A figure of 110.000 tons was being quoted in Government circles today as a possible amount of the rubber China might import from Indonesia. They said the amount would depend on the requirements of China’s new motor industry. China was also reported today to have offered to pay for its purchases from Indonesia in sterling.
