FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE
ISLINGTON REMAINS IDLE There is temporary stalemate in the negotiations between the management of the Islington works of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, LtcL and the Freezing Works and Related Trades Union over a dispute involving 25 slaughtermen who stopped work on Thursday of last week. There was a likelihood of negotiations being resumed shortly, parties to the dispute said yesterday, but beyond that neither side had any comment to make. The works remain idle.
