THREE PERMITS ALLOCATED
The Banks Peninsula, Timaru and Franklin Trotting Clubs have been granted new permits for use in the 1956-57 season. This advice was received yesterday by the secretary of the New Zealand Trotting Conference (Mr W. H. Larcombe) from the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr S. W. Smith).
Mr Smith also notified that the “floating” permit, which this season was used by the Invercargill Trotting Club, has been granted permanently to the Forbury Park club.
Seven of the 10 permits approved in the Gaming Amendment Act last year have now been allocated. The other four were used this season by the Bay of Plenty, Northland, Waikouaiti and Wyndham clubs.
