N.Z. EASILY BEATS QUEENSLAND 26-8 WIN AT BRISBANE (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BRISBANE, June 12. Dominating the game with allround speed, the New Zealand Rugby League team beat Brisbane 26-8 under floodlights on the Brisbane Exhibition ground last night. The attendance was 14,463 and the takings £2028. The match was played in mild weather like a pleasant spring night without the slightest breeze. New Zealand led 11-.3 at half-time and had control of the game throughout. This was emphasised when the New Zealand centre. Bill Sorensen, who captained the team, scored the first try of the match eight minutes after the start. . CREEDY FRACTURES RIB UNABLE TO PLAY FOR FORTNIGHT (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) BRISBANE, June 12. The New Zealand Rugby League team’s utility back, P. Creedy, has a fractured rib and will not play again for a fortnight. Creedy had his ribs strapped after an X-ray examination today showed the fracture. He took a severe knock while playing at full-back against Brisbane last night.
He had been picked to play at halfback against Toowoomba at Toowoomba tomorrow to rest S. Belsham before Saturday’s match against Queensland. The New Zealand captain, T. Baxter, is still sore from the buffeting he received in the first test on Saturday, but he will lead the team tomorrow if he feels fit enough.
