NOTTINGHAMSHIRE BOWLER’S FEAT (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 11. Ken Smales, of Nottinghamshire, took all 10 Gloucestershire wickets at Stroud, Gloucestershire, today—the second such performance in English cricket this year. The other was l Jim Laker’s against the Australians at the Oval last month. Smale's figures today were 43.3 overs. 20 maidens, 10 wickets, for 66. Laker took his 10 wickets for 88. Smales, a 28-year-old off-spinner, bowled three batsmen and caught two more off his oWn bowling. Two were out lbw, and the other three were caught. The umpires at Stroud today were K. McCanlis and L. H. Gray, who were the umpires during Laker's performance. Close of play scores in county matches were:— . At Lord’s—Middlesex 112 (Wardle four for 26, Close four for 27) v. Yorkshire, two for 101.
