Although they miss their biltong—the dried meat they were not allowed to import into the country because of the risk of transmitting foot-and-mouth disease—the Springboks are more than happy with the quality and quantity of food they are getting in New Zealand. But they do not like oysters. The North Auckland Rugby Union had a consignment flown from Bluff for a function in honour of the Springboks last night, but few of the party could be induced to eat one. The oysters were not wasted, however. They went in a flash when the New Zealanders moved la. |
