Prices Mainly Steady In Heavy Trading
Four parcels of Government stock and more than 7000 shares changed hands in transactions recorded yesterday by the Christchurch Stock Exchange. This is the biggest daily turnover for a month, and one of the largest daily totals recorded this year. Prices were mainly steady. Lower prices were paid for Bank of N.S.W., National Insurance and D.IiC., and only Fletcher Holdings improved. All other transactions of recently-traded shares were made at unchanged prices. Booth, Macdonald, which have been tranferred to the unofficial list, had buyers at (id and sellers at 2s 2d.
