Air Commodore Sydney Smith, who will be guest of honour at a meeting
sponsored by the Mayor of Christ* Church (Mr R. M. Macfarlane. M.P.) to form a Christchurch branch of the newly-formed New Zealand Air League, will now arrive in the city on June 16 instead of June 22 as previously announced. Air Commodore Smith will attend the meeting on June 18.
Sergeant J. P. Simonds, officer in charge of the plain clothes inquiry office at the Christchurch Central Police Station, has been appointed officer in charge of the Sydenham Police Station.
Mr T. B. Adams, a former postmastei at Leeston. Waimate and Ashburton has been appointed chief postmaster at Dunedin. Mr Adams succeeds Mi M. L. Applegarth, who is a former senior supervisor in the clerical branch of the Post and Telegraph Department in Christchurch.
