Sir,—Only those who tightly close their eyes to facts can fail to see that the majority of Cypriots desire union with Greece. Another hard fact for J. Hartley is that one of the freedoms we were supposed to have fought
for in the last war was the right of self-determination. But Mr Hartley will, of course, raise objections to the question being decided by a vote of the Cypriot people—proof that his eyes are not so tightly closed as his statements suggest.—Yours, etc., y J.S. June 10, 1956.
