The British open champion, Peter Thomson, scored a final round of 70 today to take seventh place in the 15,000 dollars (about £6690) Palm Beach round robin golf tournament. The winner was 24-year-old Gene Littler, the former United States amateur champion, who played in the same foursomes as Thomson, and who also scored a final round of 70. Littler finished with a total of plus 55 points, far in front of Ted Kroll, second, with plus 31 points, and Dow Finisterwald, third with plus 27. Thomson ended with plus 3.
