Business recorded yesterday by the Christchurch Stock isxcnange reached a moderate total, nearly half of which comprised two parcels of chain stores. Woolworths, South Africa, had first business of the year, selling at 13s 3d. Beath’s made a good gain in light business at 41s 6d. Golden Bay Cement were easier and a late sale on Friday of Coles was made Id above Friday’s and yesterday’s price.
