Situation:— A cold front is moving over central districts from the south-west, followed by south-westerly conditions. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh South-west winds and cold, showery conditions prevailing; outlook, unsettled. Marlborough and Nelson.—. Moderate to fresh west to south-west winds; showers developing, especially over the ranges: cool temperatures; outlook, unsettled. West Coast.— south-west winds; cold and changeable w’eather, with showers and fair intervals; outlook, fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch j'esterday was fine and sunny, with a very light easterly wind. The maximum temperature was 54.9 degrees. At midnight the sky was almost overcast. A two-knot north-west wind was blowing. The temperature was 39.2 degrees. The barometer, at 29.69 in (1005.6 millibars), was steady.
