ANNUAL BALL
LAW STUDENTS’ SOCIETY
Black and white posters depicting legal themes decorated the ballroom and lounges of the Winter Garden foi the annual ball arranged by the Canterbury Law Students’ Society lasi evening. About 500 guests attended The president (Mr A. B. Harman’ received the official guests. They included Mr Justice Adams. Sir Joseph Ward and Lady Ward. Mr L. N Fitchie. S.M., and Mrs Ritchie. Mr P Wynn-Williams, president of the Canterbury District Law Society, and Mrs Wynn-Williams, Mr E. P. Wills. Dean of the Faculty of Law at Canterbury University College, and Mrs Wills, Dr. G Riley, president of the Canterbury division of the British Medical Association. and Mrs Riley. Mr A. G. Banfield, president of the Canterbury branch of the Registered Accountants’ Society, and Mrs Banfield. Mr L. R Berry, president of the Accountancy Students’ Society, and Mr J. G. Ruther ford.
Members of the’ committee were Messrs Harman. M. F. Hobbs (secretary), R. de R. Flesher (treasurer). A. A. D. Mayne. G. R. Lascelles. G. E. W. Averill. G. C. Spencer, T. Morton, end C. R. Harman. Before the ball the committee attended a dinner party at Elizabeth House.
