OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. June 7. The weather foiecast issued at 9 p.m by the Meteorological Office. Wellington for the 27 hours alter the time of issue, is Situation:— A depression is moving eastwards off central New Zealand. Forecast:— Canterbury (apart from North Canterbury).—Light winds: fine weather, eold temperatures. Outlook: fair. North Canterbury.—Light winds, cloudy, with occasional drizzle at first, becoming fair by middav; cool temperatures. Outlook: some rain. West Coast.—Light winds: fine weather most of the day, possibly some rain in south Westland from the late afternoon; moderate temperatures. Outlook: unsettled. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was eloudy, with a light north-east wind and a maximum temperature of 48.4 degrees. At midnight, the sky was overcast, and an eight-knot westerly wind was blowing. The temperature wis 43.6 degrees. The barometer, at 29.73 inches (1006.7 millibars), was steady.
