LICENCE FOR AIR PHOTOGRAPHY
AERO CLUBS OPPOSE APPLICATION (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 7. The hearing of an application by Weedair (New Zealand), Ltd., ol Auckland, for a licence to carry out aerial advertising and photography throughout New Zealand was adjourned sine die by the Air Services Licensing Authority in Auckland today. The applicant’s counsel, Mr N. M. Whyte, undertook to inquire whether the hearing could properly take place in Auckland or in Wellington. Mr J. W. McLaren, secretary of the Auckland Aero Club, said he carried objections from the Canterbury and Wellington Aero Clubs as well as his own.
Mr G. D. Speight, for the Waikato Aero Club, said his client’s revenue could be . adversely affected. The case would be better adjourned to Wellington, where the Royal New Zealand Aero Club could represent all other New Zealand interests.
Counsel for the applicant said the company intended to operate mainly in Auckland and Northland, so that only local companies could be affected.
